The Green Party of BC Supports STV

"Next May we will be asked to vote on an important electoral change which will mean that every citizen's vote really counts," said Green Party deputy leader Damian Kettlewell. "Fewer and fewer people are participating in politics because they feel their vote does not matter. In each election, hundreds of thousands of B.C. voters cast wasted ballots that elect no one. The current voting system gives one party too much power, another not enough, and others are completely shut out. To date, the Green Party is the only major party to unequivocally support STV. Why? Because the other parties all know they will lose power under a less polarized system."
